Running to God at all Times

January 17, 2024, 9:00 AM

"'I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions.' Samuel was angry, and he cried out to the LORD all that night.” 1 Samuel 15:11 NIV*

As I was reading my Bible this morning, the last sentence of this verse caught my eye. For the last few days, I have been struggling with idolatry. I have been worried that I am walking away from God. God made this verse stick out to me. God was telling me, “Cry out to me, son.”

God is always ready to listen. When our lives are good, He is ready to listen. When they are hard, He is ready to listen. When they are sad, and we are mourning, He is ready to listen.

God will give you strength when you need it, even if you do not ask Him. There have been many days when I have failed, and have cried out to God for help. In some cases, God has answered immediately. I remember 2 instances before going to Passion Conference. I was struggling with surrender, and I cried out to God. God answered my prayers quickly. On one occasion, God put on a song that I needed immediately. On the other occasion, it was shortly after praying. God has spoken to me numerous times through music. So many times, the right song has come on at the right time.

Dear God,

Thank You for being attentive. We are unworthy of Your love. We deserve hell, but You sent Your Son to die for us. Help us to live for You in every aspect of our lives.
